Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of the kitchen's operations, from food preparation and presentation to maintaining high-quality standards. Your creativity, passion for British cuisine, and enthusiasm for culinary excellence will contribute significantly to our restaurant's continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in developing new and exciting dishes that stay true to our British Classics with a Twist concept.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Ensure the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and taste are consistently maintained.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to train, motivate, and inspire staff to perform at their best.
- Supervise and participate in food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to prevent shortages.
- Adhere strictly to food safety and health standards to provide a safe dining experience.
- Contribute ideas and feedback during menu planning and development meetings.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a reputable British or contemporary restaurant.
- Extensive knowledge of British cuisine and an ability to add innovative twists to traditional dishes.
- A passion for food and a keen eye for detail to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Sound knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
- Creativity and willingness to experiment with new Flavors and presentation styles.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- First Aid certification a bonus.
Salary and Benefits:
- £32,000 salary plus monthly gratuities
- Working Hours: 45 hours per week.
- Holiday Entitlement: 28 days, including public holidays.
