JOB DESCRIPTION – KP OPERATOR
To work alternate shifts 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00 (20 minute paid lunch break
General Objectives
1. Work safely at all times.
2. Follow the KP machine SOP and company procedures.
3. Make products to the required quality standard.
4. Complete all required checks and paperwork.
5. Keep the machine and work area clean.
6. Reduce waste and prevent contamination.
7. Help achieve daily production targets.
Main Duties
1. Set up and operate the KP machine safely.
2. Complete daily safety checks before starting the machine.
3. Check guards, emergency stops and safety devices.
4. Check the scales before production.
5. Make film and chub samples when required.
6. Check product weight, size and quality.
7. Record all checks and results correctly.
8. Send samples to the laboratory when required.
9. Use the correct machine settings for the chub size being produced.
10. Carry out resin and catalyst changeovers when trained.
11. Complete daily cleaning and basic maintenance.
12. Complete the daily maintenance checklist.
13. Report machine faults, damage or safety problems to the Supervisor.
14. Only use chemicals and equipment that you have been trained to use.
15. Report accidents, incidents and near misses.
16. Help new operators when required.
Other Duties
1. Keep the work area clean and tidy.
2. Follow 5S standards.
3. Keep walkways, steps and platforms clear.
4. Store tools and materials correctly.
5. Reduce waste.
6. Follow all company Health & Safety rules.
7. Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Knowledge & Skills
1. Basic English reading and writing.
2. Basic maths.
3. Able to follow SOP’s and instructions.
4. Able to complete simple paperwork.
5. Able to work safely with machinery and chemicals after training.
6. Good attention to detail.
7. Able to work as part of a team.
Pay: £13.44-£14.08 per hour
