Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dustcart Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating waste collection vehicles efficiently and safely, ensuring timely collection and disposal of waste materials. This role requires a professional approach, excellent driving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. A valid <PERSON> driver licence is essential, along with a good understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures. Duties
- Operate dustcart or waste collection vehicle in accordance with scheduled routes and safety regulations
- Collect waste from designated locations, ensuring proper handling and disposal procedures are followed
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle, including checking fluid levels, tyre pressure, and overall condition
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as cleaning the vehicle and reporting any mechanical issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding collection schedules or any operational concerns
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during daily operations
- Maintain accurate records of collections, mileage, and vehicle inspections as required
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery or waste collection background
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Excellent driving skills with a valid <PERSON> driver licence
- Good communication skills in English to interact professionally with colleagues and clients
- Ability to operate heavy vehicles safely over various terrains and weather conditions
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to waste collection and vehicle operation
- Organised with the ability to follow routes efficiently while adhering to schedules
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently in a physically demanding environment
Pay: £18.50 per hour
