What You’ll Be Doing:
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Manage and support patients with long-term conditions like asthma, COPD, diabetes, and high blood pressure
- Carry out cervical screening (smears) in line with national guidelines
- Give vaccinations and immunisations, including childhood, adult, and travel vaccines
- Provide wound care – dressings, suture/staple removal, and follow-up care
- Support family planning, offer contraceptive advice, and deliver NHS health checks
- Carry out ECGs, blood pressure checks, and other routine procedures
- Help lead on infection control and promote best practice
- Offer lifestyle advice and health promotion to support patient wellbeing
Working as Part of a Team:
- Collaborate closely with GPs, HCAs, pharmacists, and other clinical staff
- Take part in team and multi-disciplinary meetings to ensure joined-up care
- Refer patients to other services or team members where needed
Keeping Things Safe and Compliant:
- Record all clinical work accurately using EMIS Web
- Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to patient safety
- Maintain infection control standards and manage cold chain processes
- Support with audits, QOF targets, and practice quality improvement
- Maintain your NMC registration and meet revalidation requirements
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with up-to-date NMC registration
- Completed a General Practice Nurse Foundation Course or Practice Nurse Induction Programme
- Confident in chronic disease management, cervical cytology, immunisations, and wound care
- Strong communication, time management, and clinical decision-making skills
- A proactive, flexible team player who’s committed to delivering high-quality patient care
Desirable:
- Experience using SystmOne
- Additional training in areas like travel health, smoking cessation, contraception, or spirometry
- Knowledge of QOF and working in a primary care setting

Pay: £35,100.00-£44,850.00 per year
