Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely service and maintaining excellent communication with clients. Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at designated destinations.
- Collect signatures or proof of delivery as required, maintaining accurate records of deliveries made.
- Load and unload goods, including heavy items, with proper handling techniques to prevent damage or injury.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, ensuring it is presentable for clients and compliant with health and safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices.
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for operating the specific type of vehicle required (e.g., car, van, lorry).
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when handling goods.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Organised with the ability to plan routes effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Knowledge of traffic regulations and safe driving practices.
