Multi-Trade Carpenter – Grade F (Facilities Management)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Multi-Trade Carpenter to join a Facilities Management team working across council facilities. The role involves carrying out carpentry, repairs, maintenance and associated building maintenance works to ensure council properties and facilities are maintained to a high standard.
The successful candidate will have strong carpentry and multi-trade maintenance skills, with the ability to undertake a range of associated building maintenance duties as required. Good communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry and multi-trade maintenance work across council facilities
- Complete repairs and maintenance tasks to a high standard
- Undertake a range of associated building maintenance duties as required
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant council policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of completed work using relevant systems, including PDA-based reporting where required
Requirements
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent
- Proven experience in carpentry and multi-trade maintenance
- Good communication skills
- Experience using a PDA or electronic job management system
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to provide suitable employment references and required compliance documentation
- Willingness to complete the required interview and background checks
Desirable:
- Previous experience working within facilities management or a local authority environment
- Experience carrying out a broad range of property maintenance tasks
- Previous experience working with council properties or similar public-sector environments
