Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with diverse learning needs within an educational setting. Qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes for children with special educational needs, including autism and disabilities
- Support children with their daily activities, ensuring they are engaged and included in classroom routines
- Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives and behavioural expectations
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to children, encouraging positive social interactions
- Assist with personal care routines for toddlers or children requiring additional support
- Implement communication strategies to facilitate effective interaction between pupils and staff
- Monitor children's progress and report observations to teaching staff for ongoing assessment
- Support the organisation of classroom resources and materials tailored to individual needs
- Promote a safe, nurturing environment that encourages confidence and independence among pupils
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with autism, disabilities, or in special education settings is highly desirable
- Prior experience working with children across various age groups, including toddlers, is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with pupils, staff, and families
- Demonstrated ability to work patiently and compassionately with children who have diverse learning needs
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies suitable for SEN (Special Educational Needs) pupils
- Relevant qualifications such as a recognised teaching assistant or childcare qualification are preferred but not essential
- A genuine passion for supporting children's development and promoting inclusive education
