Personal Assistant / Care assistant role assisting a physically disabled female adult. Client is aged 30s-40s. Experience in care is not a requirement.
£14.00 per hour + 55p mileage per mile driven during work.
Monday to Friday 1pm to 8pm or 9pm with 30 minutes break. Start & finish times may vary. Occasionally, you will be required to work weekends with some weekdays off instead. I would consider splitting the hours over 4 days a week if you prefer.
Applicant must own & drive their own car for work & a folding wheelchair needs to fit in the car boot.
- Cooking vegetarian/vegan food (applicant must have personal experience with cooking & following recipes).
- Caring for a person who has interests in sci-fi/fantasy, reading, spirituality, art/history/drama, psychology, music & feminism. Hoping for intelligent conversations while getting stuff done.
- Pushing a manual wheelchair outdoors
- Personal care: assistance with dressing & showering (eg hair washing), but no intimate personal care is required.
Training provided. No experience required.
- Cleaning, laundry, tidying, organising.
- Caring for pets, eg feeding, brushing & giving medications (training will be given).
- Applicant must be LGBTQ friendly
- Assisting the client on holiday occasionally (travel and accommodation also paid for by the employer).
Applicants will need to be capable of being organised, efficient, being on your feet most of the day, using initiative and following detailed written and verbal instructions.
It is a varied & active job.
This is a COVID conscious household with regular testing, cleaning & vaccinations. You will be asked to wear a mask at work (masks will be provided).
Successful applicant will be required to get business insurance on your car insurance before starting work so that you can drive for work purposes.
An enhanced DBS (criminal records check) will be paid for by the employer.
