The Role
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading the venue’s day-to-day operations.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, enjoys leading teams from the front, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences and events.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining operational standards, developing the team, managing service, executing events and supporting the commercial success of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant and bar operations
Leading daily service and ensuring smooth running of shifts
Managing opening and closing procedures and overseeing day-to-day operations
Leading the team from the floor to deliver exceptional customer experiences
Supervising, mentoring and training front-of-house staff
Handling guest enquiries, complaints and feedback professionally
Managing reservations and guest communications across CRM systems, phone and email
Supporting rota planning and shift management using Deputy
Managing stock levels, placing orders and conducting weekly/monthly stock takes using MarketMan
Monitoring costs, managing GP and supporting budget targets
Leading cocktail and drinks development, creating seasonal drinks lists and working with suppliers
Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, Challenge 25, and health & safety regulations
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and venue presentation
Ensuring equipment is properly used, maintained and cared for
Supporting recruitment, training and team development
Managing the business in the absence of the General Manager
Continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, sales and guest experience
Work with the Events Team to deliver events with accuracy, preparation and exceptional service
What We’re Looking For
Previous hospitality management experience (Assistant Manager or similar leadership role)
Strong service leadership and ability to lead teams from the floor
Excellent guest engagement and problem-solving skills
Experience managing rotas, labour costs and operational budgets
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence managing stock, suppliers and cost control
Passion for drinks, cocktails and hospitality standards
A proactive leader who enjoys developing people and building strong teams
Interest in progressing within a premium hospitality group
Systems Knowledge
You’ll become confident using a range of operational and management systems including:
Deputy
MarketMan
POS systems
Reservations platforms
Microsoft Office
CCTV systems
Stock management platforms
Recruitment and people management systems
Training platforms such as Flow
Due diligence and compliance platforms
Dropbox and internal communication systems
