Graduate Quantity Surveyor
Location: Westminster, London
Salary: From £27,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
GKR Scaffolding is seeking an ambitious and motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to build a successful career in quantity surveying and commercial management within the construction industry. Working on prestigious projects in the heart of London, you will receive structured training, mentoring and support from experienced professionals, with clear progression opportunities to Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor and ultimately Commercial Manager.
The Role
Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you will support the day-to-day commercial and operational activities of major construction projects while developing your quantity surveying knowledge and practical experience.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Commercial Team with project administration, cost management and financial control.
- Supporting the preparation of valuations, applications for payment, variations and commercial reports.
- Assisting with procurement activities, material orders and subcontractor management.
- Coordinating and booking deliveries and lorry movements to site.
- Liaising with site teams, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
- Maintaining accurate project records, commercial documentation and cost reports.
- Supporting project delivery from inception through to completion.
- Developing a strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and commercial management within the construction industry.
- Assisting with measurement, cost analysis and project reporting activities.

Qualifications
Applicants should hold a degree (or be expected to achieve a degree) in a discipline relevant to Quantity Surveying and Construction, such as:
- Quantity Surveying
- Commercial Management
- Construction Management
- Construction Project Management
- Building Surveying
- Civil Engineering
- Construction Economics
- Construction and the Built Environment
- Other degree programmes containing substantial Quantity Surveying or Construction Management content
