The Role
We are recruiting a Team Leader for our warehouse night shift. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for the night-time running of the warehouse floor — organising the team, overseeing picking and van loading, and making sure the warehouse is fully prepared and in order for the day team.
Shift Details
Night Shift:
- Start time: 3:00pm
- Finish time: 10:30pm
- Rate: £14.05 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage the night shift warehouse team, allocating tasks and ensuring picking routes and van loading are completed accurately and on time for the following day's deliveries
- Oversee receiving of goods into the warehouse, ensuring items are scanned on arrival and sorted into the correct labelled areas
- Check that goods are organised into clearly labelled lines and bays, ready for the day team
- Oversee accurate use of scanners and handheld devices across the team
- Ensure the warehouse is left clean, organised, and fully prepared at the end of the shift
- Manage held/failed delivery stock, liaising with management regarding next steps
- Support recruitment, training, and day-to-day supervision of warehouse operatives
- Maintain a safe warehouse environment throughout the shift, upholding health & safety standards
- Report to senior management on team performance, shift output, and any recurring issues
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience is essential, ideally including picking, loading, and unloading
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience preferred
- Comfortable using handheld scanners and warehouse management systems
- Confident making decisions under pressure on the warehouse floor
- Good level of physical fitness — this is a physically demanding role involving heavy lifting
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
- A clear communicator, able to give direction to a team
- Flexibility around shift timings is required
