Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting for a Social Worker – Corporate Parenting / Children in Care Team in Bradford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join a dedicated Corporate Parenting / Children in Care Team, supporting children and young people who are looked after by the organisation. You will play a key role in promoting stability, improving outcomes, and ensuring children receive the care, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Working as part of a supportive and progressive service, you will manage a varied caseload, complete statutory work, and build effective relationships with children, young people, families, carers, and partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people who are looked after or require ongoing support
- Complete statutory assessments, care planning, reviews, and visits in line with legislation and best practice
- Work directly with children and young people to understand their wishes, feelings, and needs
- Develop and maintain effective care plans that promote positive outcomes and stability
- Undertake regular statutory visits and ensure children’s voices are central to decision-making
- Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential providers, families, education, health professionals, and other partner agencies
- Support permanence planning, including reunification, long-term fostering, adoption, and other permanence options where appropriate
- Prepare high-quality reports for reviews, panels, court proceedings, and other professional meetings
- Assess and manage risk, safeguarding children and promoting their welfare
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements
- Contribute to service improvement and effective partnership working
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work
- Registration with Social Work England
- Experience working within Children’s Social Care
- Previous experience supporting looked after children, care leavers, or children requiring statutory intervention
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures, relevant legislation, and statutory guidance
- Excellent assessment, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage a complex caseload and prioritise competing demands
- Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
