Mechanical Fitter

Kaymac Marine & Civil Engineering is looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our busy workshop team in Swansea.
Supporting our Fleet & Plant Workshop Manager, you'll help maintain and repair the specialist equipment, vehicles and plant that keep our projects running safely and efficiently across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, varied work and wants to be part of a growing engineering business.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant, fleet vehicles and specialist equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
- Maintain generators, pumps, boat engines, trailers, lifting equipment and power tools.
- Assist with fabrication and workshop projects from engineering drawings where required.
- Prepare equipment for mobilisation to site.
- Support inspection, testing and maintenance programmes.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe.
- Assist with stock control and workshop housekeeping.
- Attend project sites when required to carry out repairs or maintenance.
About You
You'll be a proactive team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You'll enjoy solving problems and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
Essential Requirements
- Time-served Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
- Strong mechanical repair and maintenance skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on construction plant, marine equipment or heavy machinery.
- Welding or fabrication experience.
- Hydraulics and diesel engine experience.
- Forklift or plant operator qualifications.
- CSCS card.
