Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic with a valid MOT licence to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting a variety of vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. Duties
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, ensuring compliance with MOT requirements.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Perform vehicle inspections to identify potential safety concerns or defects.
- Assist in the assembly of vehicle parts or equipment as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing heavy components or equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid MOT licence is essential.
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance, repair, or related mechanical roles.
- Strong understanding of schematics, mechanical systems, and diagnostic procedures.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of vehicle or equipment maintenance standards and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in a physically demanding environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Relevant qualifications in automotive engineering or mechanics are desirable but not mandatory.
