THE FARM TABLE - 2 AA ROSETTE - 70 COVER FRESH FOOD RESTAURANT
£14.50-15.50ph plus TRONC
We’re looking for an experienced chef to join our growing & ambitious team in The Farm Table. We have recently been awarded two AA rosettes & featured in the Good Food Guide's top 100 local restaurants in the UK.
We want someone who’s passionate about seasonality, provenance & sustainability. Our menu changes weekly to the tune of the farm & fields around us, making the most of fresh fruit & veg picked each morning just 100 yards away, onsite butchery, cidery, vineyard, bee hives, gelato & bean-to-bar chocolatier. We use the Dart’s Farm food hall as our larder, championing the very best artisan produce & have the odd local foraging outing!
We have flexible rotas & you can expect to work 42-46 hours per week. Commonly two 7-8 hour shifts and two 12-13 hour shifts across weekdays & weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head chef with the management of the kitchen
- Participate in weekly menu development
- Adhere to health & hygiene standards
- Daily orders & inventory management (monthly stocktake)
- Working with our satellite pizza kitchen to coordinate service
- Training of junior chefs
- Working to agreed margins & costings
- Accountability for stock to ensure minimal waste
Requirements:
- If you are a strong SCDP looking for your next challenge or a seasoned veteran looking to work with fresh food in a friendly team with a reasonable work-life balance this is the job for you. Rosette level or equivalent cooking desired but not required
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
