Choice Collects Ltd is a family-owned collection and logistics business supporting charities, local authorities, retailers, and commercial organisations.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Class 1 HGV Driver with HIAB experience to join our team.
This role will initially be based on a 3-day working week, with the intention of increasing to 5 days per week as collection volumes and business requirements continue to develop.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Class 1 vehicles and HIAB equipment to support collections, deliveries, container movements, and other transport-related activities across our network.
You will be representing the business at customer sites and will therefore be expected to demonstrate a professional, courteous, and customer-focused approach at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles.
- Operate HIAB equipment in accordance with training and safe systems of work.
- Carry out collections and deliveries.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Driver CPC, Tachograph, and Driver Hours Regulations.
- Complete all delivery and collection documentation accurately.
- Maintain vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition.
- Provide excellent customer service whilst representing the business.
Flexibility & Teamwork
As a family-run business, we believe in supporting one another and working together as a team.
Whilst driving and HIAB operation will form the core part of the role, there may be occasions where transport requirements are reduced. During these periods, the successful candidate will be expected to assist with other operational activities within the business.
These may include:
- Loading and unloading vehicles.
- Preparing goods for collection or dispatch.
- Supporting collection teams.
- General operational duties as required.

Essential Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
- Driver CPC Qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- HIAB Certificate (ALLMI or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years' HGV driving experience.
- Strong health and safety awareness.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and professional attitude.
Desirable
- Experience working within collections, recycling, logistics, waste management, or charity sectors.
- Forklift experience (not essential).
- Experience working independently and managing daily schedules.
