The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced, chartered Practice Accountant to join their leadership team during an exciting period of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional looking to take on a strategic leadership role, build trusted client relationships, and play a significant part in the continued success of an expanding firm.
The successful candidate will oversee a substantial client portfolio, provide high-quality business and tax advisory services, lead and develop teams, and contribute to the firm's commercial performance. They will also be instrumental in identifying new opportunities, improving processes, and supporting the adoption of new technologies to enhance both client service and operational efficiency.
This position offers genuine influence within the business and a clear pathway towards full directorship over the course of several successful years.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- ACCA, ACA and/or CTA qualified.
- At least 8-10 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong technical expertise across corporate and personal taxation.
- Proven experience delivering business and tax advisory services.
- Commercially minded, with a track record of identifying advisory opportunities and growing recurring fee income.
- Experience managing a significant client portfolio, including responsibility for WIP, recoverability, billing, debtors and fee targets.
- Demonstrable success in developing new business, cross-selling services and building long-term client relationships.
- Previous leadership experience, including mentoring and developing managers and senior team members.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience supporting business development activities, networking and client meetings.
- Exposure to strategic planning, operational improvements and wider business initiatives.
- Strong delegation and workload management skills.
