J&D Wilkie Ltd is a global technical textile manufacturing company, with its head office in Kirriemuir.
The Role
Following your training you will be required to: -
- Carry out routine and specialised quality control tests on yarn and fabrics in line with industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records, calibrate laboratory equipment, and raise non-conformances.
- Work closely with production teams to provide quality feedback, documentation, and suggest process improvements.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring safe handling and disposal of chemicals and test samples.
- Support new product development through trial testing and sample preparation, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret and analyse test data accurately.
- Proficient in using laboratory instruments and software for accurate data recording and reporting.
- Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and relevant environmental and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
- Effective communicator with strong training skills; able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Awareness of 5S standards and commitment to maintaining an organised, efficient, and safe working environment.
We offer
- Monday - Friday 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm alternating weekly shifts
- £13.90 per hour

Please note this is a temporary role up until May 2027.
The successful candidate may have the opportunity of fulfilling this, or another role, on a permanent basis and building their career within this expanding technology business.
