Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment across water & waste water treatment plants. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery, contributing directly to operational excellence.
Duties
- Install, assemble, and calibrate mechanical components and systems according to technical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Fitting pumps, pipework in various materials
- Fitting baffles, scrapers weir plant ect.
- Capable of reading P & I drawings and Isometric drawings.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
- Collaborate with electrical teams when troubleshooting integrated mechanical-electrical systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Supervise junior technicians or apprentices during maintenance activities, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns professionally and delivering timely solutions.
- Lead maintenance projects with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality standards while mentoring team members.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role within the water treatment industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration with diverse teams.
- Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client satisfaction.

- IPAF - Scizzor Lift, Cherry Picker
- PASMA -Scaffold
- EUSR - Water Hygeine
- Confined Space Entry
- Driving Licence.
Pay: Up to £15.18 per hour
