About the role
Safe accommodation is the foundation of everything we do.
We're looking for an organised, practical and compassionate Accommodation & Community Coordinator to help ensure our homes are safe, welcoming and well maintained.
This is a varied role combining property management with resident support. You'll regularly visit our houses, carry out inspections, organise repairs, prepare rooms for new residents and help people settle into their accommodation.
You'll also encourage residents to take pride in their homes, support house meetings, build links with local organisations and help source donations that improve residents' day-to-day lives.
No two days are the same, but every day helps someone move forward.
What you'll be doing
You'll:
- Make sure our properties are safe, clean and ready for residents.
- Carry out regular property inspections and health and safety checks.
- Arrange repairs and work with landlords and contractors.
- Welcome new residents and help them settle into their accommodation.
- Support residents to live well together and maintain shared spaces.
- Hold regular house meetings and encourage resident feedback.
- Build relationships with local businesses and community groups to secure donations.
- Keep accurate records using our case management system.
- Work closely with colleagues to provide a safe and supportive service.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with people from different backgrounds.
- Is organised and able to manage their own workload.
- Can spot problems and find practical solutions.
- Has experience of managing accommodation, housing, facilities or property
- Has
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality.
- Can build positive relationships with residents, landlords, contractors and community partners.
- Is confident using IT systems to keep accurate records.
- Shares Home4U's values of Safety, Dignity, Empowerment, Equity and Simplicity.
Essential requirements
For this role, you'll need:
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
- Access to your own car, as you'll regularly travel between Home4U properties and community locations across Cardiff.
- Business insurance for your vehicle, or a willingness to obtain this before starting the role.
- The right to work in the UK.
- A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
Experience of working with people seeking asylum, refugees or people experiencing homelessness, poverty or social exclusion would be an advantage, but is not essential. We also welcome applications from people with relevant lived experience.
