The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, caring and friendly Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support our nursing and GP teams in delivering excellent patient care.
This is a fixed-term position for 12-months. The role will consist of approximately 20 hours per week (working days can be negotiated).
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake a range of duties including:
- Phlebotomy (venepuncture)
- Blood pressure monitoring
- ECGs
- Height, weight and BMI measurements
- NHS Health Checks
- Supporting chronic disease management clinics
- Chaperoning patients when required
- Maintaining clinical equipment and infection control standards
- Stock management of clinical supplies
- Accurate clinical record keeping using our SystmOne clinical system
- Supporting clinicians in delivering safe, effective patient care
- Working to practice policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
About You
- We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working as an HCA, ideally in a primary care setting
- Holds relevant HCA qualifications/training (e.g., Care Certificate)
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is reliable, flexible, and committed to high standards of care
- Is confident using IT systems
- Is willing to undertake additional training as required
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
