Overview
We are seeking caring, reliable, and adaptable Zero-Hour Bank Staff to support our friendly nursery team. This flexible role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young children and can provide cover as needed to support the day-to-day running of the nursery. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, approachable, and able to work well as part of a small team, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
Responsibilities
- Support nursery practitioners in the care and supervision of children
- Assist with daily routines such as play activities, mealtimes, and outdoor play
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming nursery environment
- Communicate warmly and professionally with children, parents, and staff
- Support the team during busy periods, staff absences, or peak times
- Carry out basic administrative or record-keeping tasks as required
- Follow nursery policies, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety guidelines at all times
- Contribute positively to the nursery’s team spirit and caring atmosphere
Requirements
- Experience working with children or in a childcare setting is desirable but not essential
- A caring, patient, and responsible attitude
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly on a zero-hour basis, including short-notice cover
- Organised and able to follow instructions effectively
- Willingness to learn and support the nursery team as needed
- Understanding of safeguarding children (training can be provided)
