What are we looking for:
Hours of work: 06:30/07:30am-14:00pm and 21:00pm to 06:00am
You’re someone that cares for others and wants to make a real difference to people’s lives. Ideally, You have experience of working with older people and understand that keeping the resident’s home clean is very important for the health and safety of our residents.
You understand there will be challenging days, but you’ll also laugh, have fun and make lasting memories with our residents. You will maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and service towards the residents, relatives, visitors and other members of the team. You’ll cherish the rewarding moments you have with our residents each and every day.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the residents/team
- Assist and demonstrate to other staff in how to maintain the standards on each shift
- Vacuuming, washing floor areas stairs and lifts. Cleaning toilets, baths and washbasins, providing adequate supplies of toilet rolls, soap and hand towels.
- Polishing and dusting all furniture and fittings.
- Cleaning windows, paintwork and walls.
- Thorough cleaning of vacated rooms ready for re-occupation.
- To use appropriate methods and correct materials to clean all surfaces and soft furnishings according to the requirements of the cleaning schedule and Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH.
- Attend and participate in training sessions and staff and relatives’ meetings as and when required.
- To wash and distribute laundry for our residents
- To adhere to infection control polices at all times.
- To ensure the correct use of PPE.
- Assist in the collection of the soiled linen and continence products for disposal
- Act as chaperon for medical and professional staff when required
- Record any breakages or defects found in the Maintenance book.

· Flexible to carry out other duties by helping the team with gaps in service
What will your typical day involve:
- You’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the home, working closely with the rest of the care home team
- Always ensuring our residents are kept happy, you will vacuum, mop floors, polish and generally ensure the up keep of all communal areas and our resident’s bedrooms
- You’ll maintain housekeeping stocks for day to day use.
· You’ll use the equipment provided to clean and present the resident’s clothing back into their rooms.

Pay: £12.75 per hour
