Job Summary
We’re seeking a passionate and reliable Barista / Assistant Manager to join our independent coffee house on the outskirts of Derby City Centre. In this role you will be creating coffee-based beverages and assisting in the creation of new drink items. A further description is listed below, however due to the ethos of the coffee house it is imperative that you have strong communication and customer-based service skills. Experience in making hot/ cold beverages and in hospitality is prefered but training will be provided.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks and other beverages.
- Creating a friendly and welcoming environment with particular focus on positive customer interaction/ service.
- Help ensure smooth day-to-day running of the coffee house, including stock takes, till operation and cash up, opening/closing duties, social media interactions and playing a pivotal role in assisting with daily tasks associated with a strong independently ran coffee shop.
- Maintain cleanliness and high standards of health & safety behind the counter and floorspace
About you:
- Barista experience prefered.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a confident personality and a team-player mindset.
- A passion for drink creation and being able to implement your own creativity in a conducive work environment.
- Confidence to step in and lead when needed, understanding the nature of smaller independents.
