We are working in partnership with a range of welcoming and forward-thinking schools near Consett that are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND needs.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with complex needs
- Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
- Implement structured routines and behaviour support strategies
- Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and safety
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
- Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Understanding of behaviour, communication, and sensory needs
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Willingness to support personal care needs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, committed, and looking for a long-term opportunity
- Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3)
