Blackpool Zoo is looking for a Visual Design Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career designer to develop their skills while helping shape how visitors engage with our animals, conservation work and the wider zoo experience.
This is primarily a digital design and interpretation role. Working across the zoo, you'll create engaging visual communications and interpretation that help bring animal stories, conservation messages and educational content to life.
From exhibit signage and visitor information to digital graphics and educational displays, your work will help visitors better understand the animals in our care and the importance of wildlife conservation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and producing a range of digital and printed materials across the zoo.
- Creating engaging animal interpretation and educational content that communicates key wildlife and conservation messages.
- Supporting the development and delivery of the zoo's interpretation strategy, ensuring interpretation remains engaging, accurate and visitor-focused.
- Working with teams across the organisation to manage and deliver design projects effectively.
- Coordinating project requests and priorities to ensure workloads are managed efficiently and agreed timescales are achievable.
- Providing regular updates on current projects, priorities and progress.
- Supporting the evaluation of interpretation and visual communication projects to help inform future developments and improve visitor engagement.
- Maintaining consistency across the Blackpool Zoo brand and visual identity.
About You

You will ideally have:

- Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with colleagues across different departments.
