We are looking for a talented, reliable, and crowd-focused Resident DJ / Drag Queen DJ to join our LGBT bar team. This role is perfect for someone who knows how to read a room, build energy throughout the night, and create a fun, inclusive, and unforgettable atmosphere for our guests.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the sound and vibe of the venue, which is mostly pop music, supporting drag performances, themed nights, private events, and regular weekend entertainment.
Role Overview
As our Resident DJ / Drag DJ, you will be responsible for delivering high-energy music sets, and helping create a welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging DJ sets that suit the venue, crowd, theme, and time of night.
- Create an inclusive, upbeat, and safe atmosphere for LGBTQ+ guests, performers, and allies.
- Read the room and adapt music selections to keep guests entertained and dancing.
- Prepare playlists and music for regular nights, themed events, potential pride events, and special occasions.
- Liaise with management before and during events.
- Operate DJ and sound equipment confidently and professionally.
- Arrive on time and be prepared for each shift or event.
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and positive attitude with guests, staff, and performers.
- Help promote events where appropriate through social media or personal networks.
- Follow venue policies around health and safety, licensing, safeguarding, and equality.

About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for music, nightlife and LGBTQ+ community spaces.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a DJ, ideally in bars or LGBTQ+ nightlife.
- Ability to read a crowd and adapt quickly.
- Confident using DJ decks, mixers, sound systems, and playback equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work late nights, weekends, bank holidays, and special events.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Respectful understanding of LGBTQ+ culture, diversity, inclusion, and safe-space values.
Desirable Skills
- A following or existing presence within the local LGBTQ+ nightlife scene.
- Ability to create themed music sets for events such as Pride, Eurovision, Halloween, Christmas, drag competitions, and cabaret nights.
- Social media confidence and willingness to help promote venue events.
- Access to your own music library, laptop, controller, or DJ equipment.
Working Hours
Hours will vary depending on the venue schedule and may include:
Shift Type Typical: 8pm until 12am Fridays and Saturdays
We are also looking for Part Time DJ's that can do the odd gig here are there we can be flexible.
You also get a £50 bar tab when you gig so you can have drinks!
Flexibility is essential, as the role will involve late-night work and busy event periods.
