Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Casual / Relief Security Officer to provide vigilant security services across various sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment through surveillance, loss prevention, and emergency response. This role offers flexible hours and is suitable for individuals seeking part-time or relief security work, with a focus on professionalism and attentiveness.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of designated premises to monitor security status and identify potential hazards or breaches
- Utilise CCTV systems to observe activity and ensure the safety of property and personnel
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing and deterring theft or unauthorised access
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, including providing first aid if necessary
- Maintain detailed logs of activities, incidents, and observations during shifts
- Enforce site policies and procedures to uphold safety standards
- Liaise with emergency services when required and assist in evacuation procedures if necessary
Requirements
- Previous experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
- Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations, including administering first aid if qualified
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts on a casual basis, including evenings and weekends if needed
- Must be reliable, professional, and discreet in handling sensitive information
- Valid security licence or certification as required by local regulations (if applicable)
