We are recruiting for a reliable Student Stud Hand who wants to gain hands-on experience working with mares and foals across various stages of development. This is a fixed-term position ending July 2027.
The successful candidate will assist our stud teams in delivering the highest standard of horse care as well as learning what it takes to maintain and operate a stud smoothly throughout the season. You will work closely experienced team members, gaining skills and insight to support your growth in the equine breeding industry.

Assisting with all aspects of stud work, including mucking out, feeding, grooming and general handling.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation within the yard.

Working with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and high standards of care are upheld.

Support with the general upkeep of stud grounds including tasks such as raking, hedge-trimming and lawn mowing.

When applicable, supporting the sales team at Tattersalls whilst maintaining a professional attitude.

You will have some previous knowledge and/or experience working with thoroughbred horses.

A flexible attitude to working hours especially during the foaling season.

Strong desire to learn, a good timekeeper, trustworthy and reliable.

A genuine passion for the industry and a desire to develop professional skills to the highest standard.

A full UK or Irish driving license.
