BusinessIn Wales are seeking a passionate and dedicated Journalist to join our dynamic team. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. The Journalist will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing news articles across various platforms, ensuring accuracy and adherence to journalistic standards.
About Businessin Wales:
Businessin Wales is an exciting new Welsh media company that offers a positive outlook on business for readers, consumers, and partnership organisations.
The centrepiece of our output will be our quarterly magazine alongside our comprehensive digital offering. We currently offer readers a peak behind the curtain, investigating the most interesting, uplifting, and insightful stories of each and every month in Welsh business.
We are looking to include a journalist who specialises in business to write Welsh business articles and work with our partners to highlight their own stories.
The right candidate will be able to balance magazine work with day-to-day tasks on our website and social media channels. They will also be able to manage external relationships and identify commercial opportunities.
The candidate will be comfortable presenting in front of camera and behind a laptop, producing high quality video and written content for our magazine, website, and social media channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a monthly magazine with high quality business articles each month.
- Be able to travel and find Welsh business stories on the road and at events.
- Cover the latest business news, updates, and events, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Conduct interviews key figures in the world of Welsh business.
- Collaborate with marketing to optimize articles for visibility and audience reach.
- Assist in creating multimedia content such as videos and graphics for social media.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working in business journalism.
- Social Media content creating background.
- Expertise in business: Comprehensive knowledge of various sectors and an ability to stay updated on the latest trends.
- Experience of working for a print publication, dealing with deadlines and editing ability.
- Ability to write high quality magazine features on a range of Welsh-based business stories.
- Knowledge and experience of WordPress and digital journalism.
- Ability to manage deadlines and deliver consistently high-quality work.
- A recognised journalism qualification or equal experience.
- Relevant legal, ethical, and compliance training and qualifications.
Desired
- NTCJ Course / BTCJ Journalism Course.
