Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Homecare Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes around Lancaster (Galgate, Heysham, Morecombe) areas. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. This position requires effective communication skills and a commitment to following care plans tailored to each individual's needs.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Help clients with medication management as per care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Document daily activities and any changes in client condition accurately.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them diligently is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and their families.
- A valid driving licence is necessary for transporting clients when required.
- Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining records and communicating with the team.
- Experience in a care home setting is a plus but not mandatory.
