Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Domestic/Laundry/Kitchen Assistant to join our team at a local friendly nursing home mainly Domestic/ Laundry over the weekends and kitchen assistant over the weekdays.
This role is vital in ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and well-being of our residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily domestic tasks, laundry services, and kitchen assistance to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Previous nursing home experience is considered an advantage, reflecting the importance of high standards of cleanliness and customer service in this position.
Duties
- Assist with general cleaning and tidying of resident rooms, communal areas, and staff facilities to uphold hygiene standards.
- Manage laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linen and clothing for residents and staff.
- Support kitchen operations by preparing simple food items, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and laundry detergents are used safely and stored appropriately.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Respond promptly to residents’ requests related to domestic or laundry needs with professionalism and kindness.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry services provided and cleaning schedules as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in cleaning and laundry tasks.
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills suitable for interacting with residents and colleagues.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to domestic work in healthcare settings.

Pay: £14.40-£14.70 per hour
