What You'll Be Doing
As a Legionella Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for carrying out detailed risk assessments in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG 274 Part 2, HTM 04-01, BS8580 and related guidance. You will work across a variety of properties, assessing water systems, producing technical reports, and contributing to overall Legionella compliance for our clients.
Typical duties may include (dependent on training and experience):
- Monitoring and maintenance of water systems in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG 274 Part 2
- General Legionella and Water Hygiene Duties
- Conducting Legionella Risk Assessments (new and rerisk)
- Temperature profiling and asset verification
- Cold and Hot Water Storage Vessel assessment (pipe sizing, photos, condition, and location recording)
- Sampling point identification and outlet assessments
- Cistern inspections and booster set understanding
- Floorplan/schematic drawing and site mapping (paper and PC)
- Assessment of expansion vessels and system pressures
- Identifying crossovers, deadlegs, and flow issues
- Understanding KPIs, reporting, and compliance timelines
- Producing technical reports and written recommendations within 7 days
- Using internal systems (tablet and software) to log findings and generate reports
- RA proofreading and quality assurance for peer reviews
- Collaborating with other teams on remedial recommendations and system tracing
- Support with complex risk assessments and L8 Remote evaluations (as trained)

Who We’re Looking For
You’ll need to be methodical, observant, and confident in working across various site types.
You’ll be happy travelling nationwide and staying away from home 2–3 nights per week.
Essential
- Right to work in the UK
- Full clean driving licence
- Comfortable with travel and overnight stays
- DBS clearance will be carried out to ensure our employees are appropriate for working in care and safeguarding-sensitive environments
Desirable
- Experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments
- Understanding of ACoP L8, HSG 274, and BS8580
- Relevant qualifications or industry experience
- Experience in water hygiene or compliance
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Experience in technical report writing and schematics
- Knowledge of water systems, TMVs, and expansion vessels
- Strong IT and communication skills
