We're looking for an experienced General Manager who shares our passion for hospitality and understands what it takes to build a thriving venue. About the Role
As General Manager, you'll take ownership of the daily operations, leading a talented team while continuing to build on the reputation that makes Hide & Seek one of Glasgow's most distinctive cocktail destinations. Balancing exceptional hospitality with strong commercial awareness, you'll make informed decisions that drive performance, develop your people, and ensure the venue continues to grow and evolve.

What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading the daily operations of the venue, delivering exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences.
- Inspiring, coaching and developing Assistant Managers, Duty Managers, Supervisors and the wider team.
- Creating a positive, engaged and high performing team culture.
- Leading from the floor, providing visible, hands-on leadership during service.
- Driving commercial performance through strong decision making and operational excellence.
- Managing labour costs, rota planning and wage budgets in line with business objectives.
- Overseeing stock control, ordering, inventory management and gross profit performance.
- Analysing sales, labour and stock data to identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.
- Monitoring business trends, local events and seasonal demand to maximise trading opportunities.
- Supporting the ongoing development of our cocktail and beverage offering.
- Championing exceptional customer service and ensuring guest feedback is managed professionally and proactively.
- Recruiting, training and developing future hospitality leaders.
- Maintaining the highest standards of compliance, health & safety and operational excellence.
- Working collaboratively with senior leadership to support business initiatives and venue development.
About You
You'll already have experience leading a premium hospitality venue and understand that exceptional businesses are built by exceptional people.
You'll bring:
- Previous experience as a General Manager or Senior Manager within a premium cocktail bar, late-night venue or quality hospitality environment.
- Solid knowledge of, and genuine passion for cocktails.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing labour costs, wage budgets, stock control and GP performance.
- Confidence making decisions in a fast-paced environment while recognising when collaboration and support are needed.
- Natural delegation skills, empowering your management team while maintaining accountability.
- Excellent organisational, communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- The confidence to bring fresh ideas while working within established brand standards and values.
- Flexibility to meet the demands of a busy late-night hospitality business.
- A Personal Licence (preferred).
