As the firm continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join our busy and expanding Conveyancing Department.

The Role
We are seeking an organised, motivated, and client-focused Conveyancing Paralegal with experience handling residential conveyancing transactions within Scotland.
You will work closely with fee earners and the wider conveyancing team to ensure the smooth progression of transactions from initial instruction through to completion, while maintaining high levels of communication and customer service throughout.
The successful candidate will play an important role within the department and will be given the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and career within a growing legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the day-to-day management of residential conveyancing transactions
- Opening new files and issuing Terms of Business and client information packs
- Preparing written offers and conveyancing documentation
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and third parties
- Managing diaries, correspondence, and file progression
- Assisting with the smooth running of cases when fee earners are unavailable
- Managing ledgers and assisting with transactional matters
- Obtaining and processing information from third parties including:
- Mortgage lenders
- Factors
- Search providers
- Registers of Scotland
- Drafting discharges and post-settlement documentation
- Completing LBTT returns
- Registration of deeds and post-completion work
- Answering calls and dealing with client and third-party enquiries
- Ensuring files are maintained accurately and compliantly throughout the transaction process
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- Previous experience within residential conveyancing in Scotland
- Minimum 3 years’ conveyancing experience preferred
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and client care skills
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Desirable:
- Experience using LawWare or similar case management systems
- Ability to handle files with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of Scottish conveyancing procedures and processes
