Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Football Coach to join our academy team. You will plan and deliver engaging training sessions, support player development across age groups, and help run matchday operations in line with club standards and safeguarding policies.
This role is ideal for someone with a UEFA C Licence (or equivalent), experience in youth coaching, and a strong desire to develop within an academy pathway.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver weekly coaching sessions aligned with the academy curriculum and Juventus methodology.
- Coach players across foundation and youth phases (typically U7–U14), adapting content to age and ability.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to players to improve technique, decision-making, and game understanding.
- Support matchday organisation: warm-ups, team setup, in-game coaching, and post-match reviews.
- Contribute to player monitoring (basic notes on progress, attendance, and engagement).
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment in line with safeguarding and welfare policies.
- Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding session information, fixtures, and player progress.
- Attend regular coach CPD/in-service sessions and maintain relevant qualifications (e.g., First Aid, Safeguarding).
- Assist with academy events, tournaments, and trial days as required.
Requirements
- UEFA C Licence in Football Coaching (or working towards UEFA B with clear development plan).
- Experience coaching youth football (academy, school, or community setting).
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals: technique, positional play, and age-appropriate session design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding, welfare, and creating an inclusive environment.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends reliably.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one through the academy).
- FA Safeguarding & First Aid qualifications (or willingness to complete shortly after appointment).
Desirable
- Previous experience in a professional or semi-professional academy environment
- Experience using basic performance tools (video, session plans, simple tracking).
- Additional languages (e.g., Italian) to support diverse players and families.
Hours & Pattern
- Typical training evenings: Wednesday and Thursday, 18:00–19:30 .
- Weekend fixtures as per league schedule (e.g., Regent’s Park League and local tournaments).
- Zero-hours contract with hours varying by season and programme.
