The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is the region’s economic development delivery organisation.
From April 2026, we will lead the delivery of regionally commissioned economic development activity aligned to the West Midlands Growth Plan, working in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and local authorities.

As a Production Liaison, you will play a central role in supporting and coordinating film, TV, and digital content production across the West Midlands. Acting as a key point of contact for production companies, you will help position the region as a leading, film-friendly destination.
You’ll combine operational coordination, stakeholder engagement, and industry knowledge to facilitate filming activity, streamline processes, and enhance the overall production experience. Your work will directly contribute to the growth of the West Midlands’ creative industries and its reputation on a national and global stage.

- Acting as the primary point of contact for production enquiries, supporting film, TV, and digital content projects across the region.
- Managing filming applications end-to-end, including coordinating permissions and approvals across multiple stakeholders.
Liaising with local authorities, emergency services, landowners, transport providers, and other partners to facilitate smooth production delivery
Providing practical guidance to production companies on regional filming requirements, logistics, and operational considerations.
Supporting location research, technical recce visits, and production planning, ensuring access to suitable locations and facilities.
Maintaining and updating key production databases, including locations, facilities, and service providers.
Building and managing strong relationships with production companies, location professionals, and regional stakeholders.
Supporting the development of consistent, film-friendly processes and protocols across the West Midlands.
Monitoring filming activity and identifying solutions to operational challenges impacting productions.
Collecting and maintaining accurate data on production activity, regional spend, and economic impact.
Supporting reporting, case study development, and wider programme monitoring requirements.
Providing administrative and coordination support to the wider Production Central WM team.
- Experience in film, TV, events, or a similar coordination role involving multiple stakeholders.
Strong understanding of production processes, including permitting, logistics, and location management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across public and private sector partners.
High attention to detail and problem-solving capability when addressing operational challenges.
Passion for supporting the creative industries and driving regional growth.
Desirable
Knowledge of the West Midlands geography, locations, and local authority landscape.
Experience working with or within a film office, screen agency, or public sector environment.
Familiarity with CRM or film permitting systems (e.g. MediaSite, Open Brolly).
Experience supporting location services, production planning, or permitting processes.
Willingness to travel across the region where required.
