Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Production Assistant to hit the ground running in our Elastomers Team on a 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC). This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment specialising in elastomer products.
Technical Skills & Core Competences
Essential
· General Manufacturing Experience: Proven track record working within a production, factory, or industrial manufacturing environment.
· Machine Operation & Setup: Experience setting up, operating, industrial machinery safely and efficiently. Follow recipes and mix compound using scales.
· Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, production schedules, and material safety data sheets (MSDS).
· Quality Control & Inspection: Ability to follow strict standard operating procedures (SOPs), inspect finished parts for defects, and use basic measuring instruments (e.g., callipers, durometers, resistivity).
Desirable
· Elastomer Processing: Hands-on experience with rubber or silicone processing techniques.
· Compression Moulding: Familiarity with operating compression presses, managing cure times, temperature control, and deflashing/trimming components.
· Extrusion Processes: Experience setting up and operating extrusion lines, controlling profiles, and managing post-cure ovens.
Soft Skills & Work Attributes
· Attention to Detail: Precision is vital, especially when dealing with specialised compound mixtures and tight tolerances.
· Safety-First Mindset: Strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
· Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify minor machinery faults or material inconsistencies and escalate or troubleshoot them appropriately.
· Team Collaboration: A strong team player who communicates effectively with the production, quality assurance, and operations teams.
· Flexibility: Work different shift patterns as required
