We’re looking for experienced and dedicated Health Care Assistants to support two individuals with complex needs in their own homes in the Warrington area. These roles involve 2:1 support, providing structure, safety, and meaningful engagement for people who require consistency, patience, and a person‑centred approach.
About the RolesYoung Person with Dual Diagnosis
This young person requires a structured, predictable approach rooted in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). You’ll support her with daily living, emotional regulation, communication, and accessing community activities that build confidence, enjoyment, and independence. You will also work closely with her mother to ensure stability and continuity of care.
You will also be part of a team supporting a gentleman with autism who is non‑verbal and communicates through:
- Body language
- Guiding and showing you
- Facial expressions
- Sounds
He thrives on routine and structure, and your role will involve:
- Supporting him with personal care
- Monitoring and supporting his Type 1 diabetes
- Understanding and responding to his non‑verbal communication
- Providing calm, consistent support to reduce anxiety
- Following PBS strategies to manage behaviours that may challenge
- Helping him engage in meaningful daily routines
He lives at home with his mum, and you’ll work collaboratively with her to ensure his care is consistent, respectful, and person‑centred.
Full PBS and behaviour support training will be provided.

8am-8pm
10am-10pm
Sleeping nights
You must be flexible and reliable, with availability to cover:
- School holidays
- Sickness
- Staff absence
Consistency is essential for both individuals’ emotional wellbeing and progress.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Support with personal care, communication, emotional regulation, and daily routines
✔ Understand and respond to non‑verbal communication cues
✔ Support diabetes management (training provided)
✔ Implement PBS strategies and behaviour support plans
✔ Promote independence at home and in the community
✔ Plan and participate in structured, meaningful activities
✔ Maintain accurate care records and follow safeguarding procedures
✔ Work collaboratively within a 2:1 team
✔ Communicate effectively with families and professionals
✔ Engage in ongoing training, supervision, and reflective practice

- Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Full right to work in the UK
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to continuity
- Two professional references and valid ID
- Willingness to complete all mandatory training (including Team Teach & PBS)
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care
- Knowledge of autism, learning disabilities, and diabetes
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
