Service Centre Support Operative - The Mansfield Group
The Mansfield Group is the UK’s largest dedicated Vehicle Rescue & Recovery operator, with 11 service centres providing nationwide coverage. We are looking for a reliable, proactive Service Centre Support Operative / Yard Support colleague to join our team at the Queenborough Service Centre.
A crucial part of our daily operations relies on the smooth and effective management of the yard and storage areas. This role plays an essential part in ensuring that vehicle movements, site safety, and storage processes run seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle & Yard Management
Plan and manage the parking and storage of incoming vehicles.
- Prepare vehicles for removal, collection, and onward processing.
- Ensure all vehicles and stored property are handled in line with company procedures and customer requirements.
- Maintain internal and external yard areas to a high standard, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
- Support the movement of vehicles around the site, including recovered, stored, or police‑related vehicles.
Operational Support
Liaise professionally with salvage agents, police personnel, and other recovery operators.
- Assist with general manual yard duties, including clearing waste, organising storage areas, and supporting operational staff.
- Operate a forklift (if trained) to support daily yard operations.
- Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety procedures, reporting any issues promptly.

Experience & Requirements
Essential
Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
- Ability to undertake manual tasks
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Police Vetting (required on joining)
- Administration skills required.
- PC litterate.
Desirable
Experience working in a busy yard, depot, or vehicle storage environment
- Forklift Truck licence (not essential – full training will be provided)
- Experience handling vehicle movements
Typical Working Hours
Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 17:00 and occasional Saturday mornings
Pay
£ – £ per hour, depending on experience
