Role: Night Porter
Location: The Queens Hotel Cheltenham
Reporting To: Reception Manager
Role Overview:
The Night Porter is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the hotel during night-time hours. This role involves providing excellent customer service to guests, managing late-night check ins and check-outs, and handling any issues that arise overnight.
Key accountabilities:
- Welcome and assist guests arriving late at night, ensuring a warm and professional service.
- Handle check-ins and check-outs during night hours.
- Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service.
- Prepare the breakfast as required and assist the night Supervisor/ Manager as needed.
- Prepare set ups for tables and/or room service.
- Follow cash handling procedures.
- Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
- Comply with local licensing laws.
- Be environmentally aware.
- General cleaning for public, toilets, back of house areas.
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.
Desired Skills and Education:
- Proven experience within the hospitality industry.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivated, results orientated and capable of working independently and as a part of the team.
