Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About Higher End Construction
Higher End Construction is an established principal contractor delivering planned maintenance, refurbishment and construction projects across the North West.
Working with local authorities, housing associations, supported living providers and private clients, we specialise in wet room adaptations, boiler installation programmes, disabled adaptations, void refurbishments, responsive repairs and residential refurbishment projects.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to join our leadership team and help drive the next phase of our development.
The Role
This is a key leadership position within the business, responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our construction projects across the North West.
Working closely with the Managing Director, you will oversee the successful delivery of multiple live contracts, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to the high standards our clients expect.
You will lead our operational team, coordinate resources, support our site teams and continually look for ways to improve efficiency, quality and profitability across the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operational delivery of multiple live construction projects.
- Lead and support the operational team to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Oversee planned maintenance, wet room adaptations, boiler installation programmes, disabled adaptations, void refurbishments, responsive repairs and residential refurbishment projects.
- Plan labour, subcontractors, materials and resources across multiple contracts.
- Monitor project programmes and resolve operational challenges effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure variations are identified promptly and work closely with our commercial support to ensure they are accurately priced and recovered.
- Monitor project performance and work closely with the finance team to maximise profitability.
- Produce monthly operational reports for the Managing Director, reviewing contract performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and financial performance.
- Drive continuous improvement across planning, communication, quality and operational processes.
- Support the mobilisation of new contracts and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
About You
We're looking for an experienced construction professional who enjoys leading teams, taking ownership and delivering high-quality projects.
You will have:
- Experience as an Operations Manager, Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within the construction industry.
- Experience delivering planned maintenance, refurbishment or social housing contracts.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project profitability.
- Experience identifying and managing variations.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent decision-making skills.
- SMSTS qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
