Job Summary
We are seeking a weekend Domestic Cleaner to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at our Nursing Home, ensuring a welcoming and spotless environment for residents and visitors alike. The shifts available are only weekend 8am-2pm. However, we may be able to offer more hours when we require coverage for staff holidays or sicknesses.
Responsibilities
- Ensure cleaning is carried out to a high standard and according to policies and procedures.
- Attend all relevant training offered by the company.
- To utilise and be trained in the use of all equipment required for cleaning purposes.
- Attend Supervisions and Appraisals.
- Assist with all deep cleaning rotas on a scheduled basis.
- Clean and make good any irregular spillages – using recommended kits and fallowing procedures.
- Follow and abide by all Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensure that the correct protective clothing is worn for hazardous tasks.
- To use the correct colour coded equipment and disposal bags for waste products.
- To assist with any other tasks that may be requested, for example: assisting with meal times for the residents, laundry and kitchen duties, the list is not exhaustive.
- To help cover holidays we may offer extra hours at times to cover other cleaning shifts or laundry shifts– to ensure all service users clothes are cleaned and ironed (care for clothing according to manufacturer’s instruction), wash linen and towels.
- Assist in the cleaning of wheelchairs, equipment and furnishings.
- Deep clean carpets and floor coverings within bedrooms and communal areas.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in janitorial services, commercial cleaning, or care home housekeeping is highly desirable
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and proper use of cleaning products and equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Whilst we try to have at least 2 people on cleaning shifts, at times you may be asked to work independently due to staff holidays.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving around for extended periods
