Commis Chef
The Aviator Hotel is looking for an ambitious Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen team. As a Commis Chef, your main responsibility will be to amaze our customers with your excellent cooking skills all whilst keeping a cool head and working well as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
· Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes
· Assist Head Chef with food preparations and ensure adequate supplies at cooking stations
· Assist Head Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes
· Assisting with the management of health and safety and food hygiene practices
· Enforce strict health and hygiene standards
· Monitoring portion and waste control
· Helping with deliveries and storing food in an organised manner
Requirements:
· Proven experience in a Commis Chef role
· Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes
· Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
· NVQ Level 2 in Catering
· Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety.
· Good communication skills and work well as part of a team
Part-time - hours to include evenings and weekends.
Own transport essential due to rural location.

Pay: From £12.85 per hour
