Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Transport Clerk to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation documentation, coordinating shipments, and ensuring smooth communication across supply chain operations. Duties
- Manage shipping and receiving documentation accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies and client requirements.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to facilitate timely deliveries and pickups.
- Input data related to freight movements, inventory levels, and shipment status into relevant systems with precision.
- Maintain clear communication with internal departments, carriers, and clients via phone, email, and other channels using professional phone etiquette.
- Assist in organising transportation schedules, track shipments, and resolve any discrepancies or delays promptly.
- Perform general administrative tasks including filing, report generation, and data entry to support logistics operations.
Requirements
- 2 Years experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and logistics principles.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret data and optimise transportation workflows.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally via phone and written correspondence.
- Proficient data entry skills with high accuracy; typing speed is advantageous.
- Knowledge of 3PL operations and freight management practices is desirable.
- Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Good attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with regulations.
