Night Support Worker (Cleaner / Receptionist)

Location: Ardwick, Manchester
Hours: Full-time – 4 on / 4 off rota
Shift Pattern: 8:00pm – 8:00am or 9:00pm – 9:00am
Supporting People In Need (SPIN) is a Manchester-based charity providing accommodation and support to single adult males experiencing homelessness and other complex needs.
We are looking to recruit a reliable, hardworking and committed Night Support Worker (Cleaner / Receptionist) to join our dedicated team.
This is an important role that helps ensure the safety, cleanliness and smooth running of our project throughout the night while providing a welcoming and professional service to residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the cleanliness of all communal areas throughout the night.
- Carrying out routine cleaning duties to a high standard.
- Welcoming visitors and professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries.
- Completing handovers and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitoring CCTV and ensuring the security of the building.
- Carrying out regular health and safety and security checks throughout the shift.
- Responding appropriately to emergencies and incidents.
- Supporting residents where appropriate during the night.
- Ensuring all allocated duties are completed before the end of each shift.
For staff working the 9:00pm – 9:00am shift, there is an additional responsibility of knocking on residents' bedroom doors from 7:00am to help ensure they are awake and ready to leave the hostel for the day, in line with hostel routines.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with adult males in a residential or supported living environment.
- Understanding of professional boundaries and safeguarding.
- Ability to work waking night shifts on a 4 on / 4 off rota.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience working within homelessness, supported accommodation or social care.
- First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Experience with lone working and conflict management.
