The assistant store manager will support the Store manager with the day-to-day retail operation at Uneeka.life. As the assistant store manager you will support with leadership and direction in the development of colleagues, also supporting to drive the performance of the store through managing processes and the team.You will have the opportunity to make an impact on the success of the store while developing your leadership skills.
Duties:
- Support with managing and oversee daily store operations
- Support with creating and implementing strategies to drive sales and achieve store targets
- Support with training, supervising, and motivating a team of sales assistants
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure product availability
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints or issues
- Maintain store appearance and visual merchandising standards
- Support with regular staff meetings to communicate goals, updates, and expectations
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement marketing initiatives
- Jointly responsible for the day-to-day retail operation at Uneeka.life
Customer Service/Store Standards:
- Deal with customer feedback, positive or negative and cascade relevant information, identifying training and process requirements or colleague recognition.
- Ensure an exceptional experience is delivered to our customers
- Guide, train and motivate people, manage performance and foster a culture of development & progression
- Work with the manager to drive the performance of the store through managing processes and the team
- Support the Manager in updating colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
Admin
- Produce rotas for the life store in line with current procedures when the manager is unable to do so
- Liaise and create strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring an exceptional understanding of their products which can be passed on to colleagues and customers
- Support the Manager in managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control
- Support the manager to work within agreed budgets
- Support the Manager in taking responsibility for legal compliance
- Undertake other duties that may from time to time be reasonably requested
- Maintain awareness of market trends and monitor competitor activity
- Support the Manager to initiate changes to enhance the business
- Support the Manager to be able to report to Senior Management on the performance of the store operation in line with current procedures
Training/Culture
- Support the Manager in providing leadership and direction in the development of colleagues
- Help ensure colleagues know, understand and live Uneeka’s Values
- Support a culture of recognition of people who deliver
- Undertake other duties that may from time to time be reasonably requested
CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS
Communication within this role is extremely important. You will need to be able to demonstrate delegation and leadership skills and will be required to work effectively both as part of a team and alone. As the assistant manager your team will look to you for direction on a day to day level as well as giving them an understanding of the goals for the month, quarter and even year.

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in sales within a retail environment- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively- Proficient in administrative tasks such as inventory management, and cash handling- Previous experience in sales management or leadership roles is preferred
