Engineering Technician

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Technician to join a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business based in Avonmouth.
This is a hands-on engineering role supporting the manufacture, repair and assembly of tooling, jigs, fixtures and specialist machinery within a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will join a skilled engineering team working across a varied range of projects, from small tooling modifications through to bespoke machine builds and production support.

Main Responsibilities
- Manufacture jigs, fixtures and production tooling
- Carry out repairs and modifications to existing tooling and fixtures
- Assist with machine assembly and equipment installation
- Support tooling development for new production projects
- Contribute to improvements of existing machinery and manufacturing processes
- Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Support general engineering and workshop activities as required
The work is varied and can include everything from producing small batches of fixtures to assisting with the build and development of bespoke machinery and automated equipment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience operating conventional machine tools including:
- Lathes
- Milling machines
- Grinding machines
- Bench fitting and general workshop experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Practical, hands-on engineering approach
Desirable Skills
- Basic welding experience
- Machine build or assembly experience
- CNC machining or programming experience
Working Hours
39 hours per week:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Friday: 7:00am – 2:30pm
Flexibility may occasionally be required depending on workload.
