UTEC Geo-Services, Structural Monitoring is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex projects across the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors.
This is a senior client-facing role that starts during the bidding and tender phase and remains accountable for delivery through execution, close-out and lessons learned. The successful candidate will act as the single point of contact for the client, ensuring strong stakeholder management, commercial control and successful project execution.
Working closely with Project Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Commercial and Quality teams, the Senior Project Manager will take ownership of project performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost and customer satisfaction.
The role provides significant exposure to the wider Acteon Group and its global operations, supporting growth across existing and emerging client accounts. Projects will be delivered worldwide and will span offshore Oil & Gas, offshore wind, marine and wider energy markets.
Key Responsibilities
Bid and Tender Support
Support commercial and technical teams during pre-contract discussions.
Review tender documents, technical specifications and commercial requirements.
Identify project risks, opportunities and resource requirements during bid reviews.
Assist in the development of execution strategies, schedules and budgets.
Support client clarification meetings and technical workshops.
Ensure a clean handover from bid phase into project execution.
Project Delivery
Lead projects from contract award through to final close-out.
Develop and maintain project execution plans.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations.
Manage project financial performance including forecasting, revenue, margin and cash flow.
Monitor project risks and implement mitigation plans.
Manage variations, contract changes and claims.
Coordinate internal resources across engineering, operations, procurement and quality.
Drive accountability across project teams and suppliers.
Client Management
Act as the primary interface between UTEC Geo-Services, Structural Monitoring and the client.
Build long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders.
Lead project review meetings, progress updates and steering meetings.
Manage customer expectations and resolve issues quickly.
Identify opportunities for repeat business and additional work scopes.
Support business development activities within existing accounts.
Commercial Management
Maintain a strong understanding of contract terms and obligations.
Track project profitability and performance against approved budgets.
Manage invoicing milestones and support collections activity.
Ensure all variations and commercial impacts are identified, documented and recovered.
Work closely with commercial and finance teams to improve project performance.
Leadership and Team Collaboration
Work closely with Project Engineers throughout project delivery.
Provide leadership and direction to project teams.
Promote collaboration between engineering, operations and commercial functions.
Mentor junior Project Managers and Project Engineers where required.
Support continuous improvement across the business.
Drive lessons learned and ensure actions are carried into future projects.
Health, Safety and Quality
Promote a strong safety culture throughout project delivery.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and client requirements.
Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance activity.
Participate in project audits, reviews and quality assurance activity.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
Minimum 8 years project management experience within Oil & Gas, offshore, marine or energy industries.
Proven experience managing complex client-facing projects.
Strong commercial and contractual understanding.
Experience supporting projects during tender and bidding phases.
Experience managing international projects and stakeholders.
Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills.
Strong understanding of project controls, forecasting and financial management.
Willingness to travel internationally when required.
Desirable
Experience within structural monitoring, subsea systems, offshore construction or asset integrity sectors.
Renewable energy or offshore wind experience.
PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
Experience working within international matrix organisations.
Exposure to Acteon Group businesses and services.
