Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food preparation and production meets our high standards of quality and presentation. This position requires strong leadership abilities, excellent culinary skills, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking of dishes.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as necessary.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared to specification and presented beautifully.
- Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and improve existing ones.
- Handle any customer complaints or issues related to food quality promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation and production techniques.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising staff.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members.
